My Health and Me features a vast range of tools (and more added regularly as we expand on the service) that will assist you in managing your life with diabetes and your health in general. Some of our key features are shown below.

Quick Capture

Quick Capture allows you to capture your information on the fly. This allows you to whip out your phone and simply capture the minimum information while you are out on your daily grind. For example, to capture your blood sugar, we simply require the reading and the unit. The date and time of capturing is set as the date and time you submit, and the type is set to Ad Hoc, which you can always edit later if you wish.

Quick capture: Capture the minimum while you're on the go, and edit later to improve statistics and insights.

This truly allows you to capture and forget until later when you want to add additional information, or analyze the information you entered.

Custom Dashboard

Detail editing and management of your data in our custom dashboard to help you understand all the data you are entering and how they relate. Everything entered via the system (including via the mobile app and the quick capture interface) can be edited within the custom dashboard.

Extremely functional and insightful dashboard

This allows the person who wants to really analyze certain aspects of their health journey to zoom in to that feature and analyze to their heart’s content, while not overburdening users who simply want to remain informed about key issues.

Insights

Beautiful and insightful graphs and tabular data to inform you of your decisions and lifestyle. This information is invaluable to people very concerned with their health and their mission to improve their health.

Insights for blood sugar - averages, minimums, maximums, broken down by various criteria.

When you can see your data (and your efforts) at work, you can make informed decisions about your health.

20 Modules to date

Not only do we have the blood sugar management module, which is obviously what My Health and Me is truly about, but to date a total of 18 modules. From blood pressure to water intake. From mood to practice of gratitude and meditation. All included in one price – never pay per module!

The module interface is customizable – you can simply disable modules you do not use, and enable them when/if your life circumstances change. Disabling modules that you do not need simplify your dashboard and management tools, thereby giving you ease of use, and allow you to increase your use of the system at your pace. Rome was not built in a day. The most important thing is that you start somewhere. Why not with My Health and Me, then?

Experiments

Mark your data as experiments so that they do not affect your main data set and graphs. What effect does, for example, exercise, have on your blood sugar? Does it have any? Find out! But please note our terms and conditions, with a few key ones mentioned here.. Perform experiments only under advisement of your medical practitioner.

Here is an example experiment that Kobus did one day: He wanted to investigate what effect certain foods have on his blood sugar.

  • At 6am, he took his blood sugar reading, and then every 1.5 to 2 hours until 4pm in the afternoon.
  • At 7am he ate a breakfast of tomatoes only. Yes, you read right. ONLY tomatoes.
  • At 11am, he had more tomatoes.
  • At 1pm, he had, yep, you guessed it, more tomatoes, all the while meassuring his blood sugar frequently, and drinking only water.
  • At 4pm, he had enough information to know that he can (at least in relation to blood sugar) eat tomatoes as much as he likes.

He has done similar tests with mangoes, grapes, corn, bananas and potatoes, each revealing something new. He noticed that he can eat bananas, corn and potatoes, moderately so, and not have a severely negative impact on his blood sugar, where grapes and mangoes created absolute havoc with his blood sugar.

An experiment with bolus insulin. Not to be done without supervision of your health practitioner!

These findings are for Kobus only, and your results may vary. Please remember to consult your medical practitioner (or if relevant, your dietician) before doing experiments. Kobus also recommends that you do not extend your experiments too long – it is generally unhealthy to restrict your eating for extended periods of time to one kind of food.
